This sort of "booty" is really smelly. & It all reminds me too much of WikiLeaks. Sure, it's embarrassing. But is it really all that bad? I remember watching "wag the dog" way back, and recall thinking that while a clever idea, it wouldn't be easy faking a non-existent war. But here we are and this "LulzSec" entity has bubbled up to the surface -- thanks to useful idiots such as myself who relink this stuff -- and is now part of the "reality" of a sub-set of surfers. From there, it has also likely leaked into the "reality" of "real life" entities. And the entire basis of their "existence" consists of pastebins, a twitter account, a mysteriously robust web presence (I mean, wft?), and irc performances. Ironically enough, the very necessary thing to address the credibility gap is authenticated presence ... Will this mean that we will soon 'have to accept' [... "lulz"] getting fondled by the government when using the internet as well? (aside: never really thought of the internet so vividly a a 'new' sensory organ. Always assumed that it merely 'extended' existing senses as a sensory prosthetic. But now I am reconsidering.)
