Interesting read. I think the author is giving this company too much credit. Companies such as this, giving the appearance of being much larger than they actually are is a very easy thing to do online. I can't believe he actually paid $60 in the end for a copy of his own thesis, he just proved to them that their system, however deceptive, works. A lot of sketchy companies work this way. Giving the impression of offering something, all the while ignoring the fact that the author is the one who did literally all of the work. Not only did he research and write the thesis, but he filled out all the forms, chose the clip art, and even formatted the damn word document. Of course they were not going to proof read. The entire thing was probably automated by a machine. Understandably, the point of him doing this was to see what would happen, but what else could he expect?
