Ms Quilliam adds that the young have seen the destruction that infidelity wreaked among their parents and grandparents

I've see things like this swing back and forth between parents / children but never realized it was so pervasive or applied to entire generations.

For example, my mom was raised by parents who were very young and not very strict. She waited a long, long time to have kids and was enormously strict on my brother and I. My cousin (on my mom's side) was raised in a very strict house as well. Now that she has a kid I see a very laid back environment at their house. She's a good mother and responsible but doesn't have the same hovering hand that both my mother and my aunt have.

Similarly, in high school I noticed kids who had parents that drank and smoked weed were the straight a "nerds" who never went to parties or drank or smoked. I see it almost as rebelling against their parents but in a different way.

I wonder if the next generation sees a bunch of strong marriages and less divorce / adultery that it will swing back?
