I've always been a fan of Brand. Even in his ridiculous hair days. He acknowledges that he's got a bit of an ego problem and loves attention, but he truly is an intelligent and kind person. His autobiographies are also worth reading.

Absolutely. I admire that he's using his privileged position to make waves. He seems to have managed to harvest some of the power of his ego, fame and brain in pursuit of something altruistic. His New Statesman's article goes into more depth of his reasoning for revolution. He's a very lucid man, with the ability of turning a serious (maybe boring for most) subject into an enjoyable and at times funny read.
