When you 'hub' a story, it adds the story to your hub, and passes it along to the hubfeeds of your followers. Hubbing a story shares it with your followers.
Why add the hubbing function?
At the present time, while we have this close-knit community, hubbing will have little effect. The front page of Hubski is a great way to find interesting stories and information. However, some of the stories that most interest us might not be the most popular. As the number of people of Hubski grows, it is important that we can still share stories with those that we enjoy conversing with.
Hubbing enables us to share our favorite stories with those that share our interests.
For example, mk just hubbed cW's post 'The Invisible Scent' (http://hubski.com/pub?id=1103). If you follow mk, you will find cW's post in your hubfeed, shared by mk.
You can find the 'hub' link in the subtitle of the story.
As always, feel free to share your feedback and ideas.
As an aside, I want to personally thank everyone for their participation and early support of Hubski. The content and conversation here have been great, and checking in to see what is new at Hubski is always a treat.
UPDATE: I've implemented a fix. The 'next page's of the Hub and Hubfeed are slightly abbbreviated. Over time, I will be doing some more work here that will alter the format of these extended pages.
