As someone with a cockroach phobia, the prospect of a mutant cyborg cockroach army is beyond horrifying. That said, I cannot see how they could expect the average person to carry out an operation on these insects without clumsiness and "cruelty" taking place in some instances. And yet, I can pop down to my local hardware store or supermarket at any time, buy a can of ultra strength RAID, and blitz dozens of the little fuckers. Or I can call in the exterminators. I have no idea how slowly or "cruelly" they die from poison, yet it's totally legal and raises no ethic eyebrows (PETA likely excepted).
