Based on this piece, I'd say that the kids in her classroom and their parents are lucky to have such a thoughtful teacher. I've spent the better part of last week interviewing caregivers and visiting day-care centers for our daughter and I have realized that there are a number of people that are "good" with children but don't understand the privilege that their jobs carry. Meaning that every day and almost every interaction carries a "teaching moment". It's obvious from the article that this teacher gets that. We tend to project adult motivations on harmless child behaviors, just let them be kids. My guess is that the parents reaction freaked their kid out way more than the kiss on the cheek did.
