Tech

Chrome web browser

On my work laptop

Frequency

Multiple times a day. Sometimes once an hour.

Features

Global and Chatter only.

Never used chat, discord, etc.

I get PMs only when someone wants to chastise me and have the last word before blocking me.

Philosophy

Go to Global to see what the new Big Ideas are.

Go to Chatter to see what people are engaging with, and their thoughts.

I often miss posts in Global, but see the comments in Chatter, that then lead me to the Global post.

I only click the Hubwheel when I want to SHARE a user's comment. I never use it as a "upvote". I only badge the truly platinum-quality submissions.

Failings

I know there is more that I don't understand about Hubski than I do understand. Following individuals or tags and how that affects my experience, for example. No idea. Why the Tags field on posts never autocompletes any useful tags... so I use it for satirical commentary on my posts, mostly.

I know the color of my hubwheel indicates... something. And I have a certain number of badges saved up. But I don't know how to discover either of those features true meanings/use.

I post rarely. I comment often. Probably mostly a factor of me being an old white man on the internet, and mistakenly thinking my perspective is valuable.

I never visit on Mobile or on my personal computer or during non-work hours. It's what I do to distract from work, or when I have downtime.

Most importantly, I have deleted all social media from all of my devices. I now visit Hubski, a few highly curated Reddit subs, and watch YouTube videos and TikTok videos when I want to just passively consume content.
