Yeast doesn't expire? But it has like a half-life. Like, "a month after the expiration date it's 50% dead" and "a year after the expiration date it's 75% dead" and "two years after the expiration date it's 87.5% dead". All numbers made up, of course.

Mine is theoretically four years dead but my wife threw it in a bowl with some sugar and about two hours later the corpses had been replaced by fresh generations.
