...years after he had “quit,” I would scour social media, looking for pictures of him still grabbing a smoke with his co-workers at the holiday party, zooming in on his hand, squinting to see that little white stick between his fingers. The difference is that I was never addicted to smoking. The other difference is that I judge myself less harshly than I do him.

Well that's....Shitty. Just kind of a shitty way to act towards your spouse, and a crappy excuse to make for yourself.

Also, you're going to advocate for taking an occasional cig while you're in a social setting that can be enhanced by the shared experience of having a smoke? Fine, I don't care. But judging your husband reads poorly against an article which advocates embracing your vices, as does the minuscule size of your vice. Smoking is a vice. Having a smoke is just undoing your top button.

Maybe I'm just mad because I haven't smoked in almost five months, but I've shared a friend's juul after a concert or had a cigar at a wedding, and I'm refusing to make myself feel bad for not relapsing after that.

Rah. My anger seems sillier the more I type.
