The machine of industry is churning out uninspiring garbage at the theater. My kids, 9 and 11 years old, have only been to a movie theater a handful of times in their lives and look at going to the movies as very low priority event, maybe a couple of ideas below bowling. There's not much in it for them, they get pissed at the idea of a 4PM showing starting actually at 4:30 due to thirty minutes of ads beforehand. They prefer to explore what we can find on Amazon Video or our cable service OnDemand. They busted a gut a week ago watching "Monty Python and The Holy Grail".

I'm wondering if part of the reason that good cinema is missing is that it takes too much time and what does a movie theater really offer me that I cannot get now at home? $17 for two small drinks and popcorn? Or, make that $17 for my watered down movie theater Manhattan.

My wife and I have been watching "Mozart in the Jungle", "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and "Shitt's Creek". There's some quality content out there, just too much and too varied for us to relate around.

Instead, here we are on Hubski talking about cinema. All in all, no so bad.
