Yeah. That's an easy conclusion to come to.

But I also consider (and I know she does, too) what would have been the outcome if she'd had a less-than-lethal option available to her? Mace. Stun gun. Jiu-jitsu. Another motorist, stopping to help. The man's wife, getting out of the car and screaming at her husband to mellow the fuck out.

She used the tool she had available to her, and now a man is dead. A father. A grandfather. An employee. A husband. Dead. Because he got angry/frustrated, and lashed out, and all she had to defend herself was a gun.

You can't second-guess her decision: she used the tools available to her.

But we as a culture, and a nation, (and I, as a gun owner), need to think about this carefully, without prejudice, and with open eyes.

A momentary lapse in judgement is a death-penalty offense?

Are we ok with that?
