4chan has a distinct advantage in this case because they've always been cash-poor and their value is arguably zero. There are no pockets to go after. Advance Publications, on the other hand, has $8b in revenue yearly. The question then becomes who wants it more - litigants taking a flyer to find Reddit's pain point or Reddit's parent counsel wanting to defend the actions of a subsidiary they've never really known what to do with or how to derive revenue from.
