You could... but drones aren't nearly the bargain they'd have you believe. I can't find it right now but I posted a link a while back that indicated the ground crew necessary for keeping a drone in the sky was like a factor of 5 over a typical air superiority fighter, which pretty much makes UCAVs a jobs program. There's also the fact that when you're flying a remote control plane via satellite from half a world away, the dude in the plane with the missiles wins against you without even having to try. A P-51 with a full tank of gas trumps a squadron of Reapers in air-to-air combat.
