well the whole point of the canary is that it gets rid of the gag order caveat. With a gag order you might not be legally allowed to answer us. The canary would let you say "we have not been served an NSL as of YYYY/MM/DD" until which time you are. The court would then not be able to compel you to lie and say that "we have not been served an NSL as of ____". Then you remove that statement and then we would be notified without you breaking the gag order. Perhaps on the tos page?
