The Aristotelians acknowledged three forms of rhetoric: logos, ethos and pathos. Forums such as /logic and /r/TheAgora where two out of three modes of discourse are banned outright are akin to musical compositions where flats and sharps are banned. Not only that, but somebody has to do the banning, and that someone is invariably an individual looking for technicalities rather than someone attempting to keep the discussion fruitful. Word to the wise: there are no moderators on Hubski. This is by design, and it is one of the things we celebrate the most. The rules of engagement are the responsibility of the person you're responding to which means you'd best comport yourself as if you wish to have a conversation as opposed to shooting one down.
