Snyder is one of a very few republicans I've voted for in my life. I kind of regret it after this debacle.

He stated in his speech that the buck stops with him, then went on to blame everyone but himself and his emergency manager for the situation, including Obama. I imagine he had little or nothing to do with the decision to change water sources. However, his emergency manager made the sole decision, and was probably guided by penny wise-pound foolish treasury officials. That's not a failure of local or federal government, so I wish he would stop asserting so. He needs to take unqualified responsibility.

An independent commission needs to investigate what happened, and if it's determined that Snyder knew about this problem before it became public knowledge, which is his assertion, then he needs to resign. Dollars are important, but they can't be elevated to greater importance than people. Each citizen isn't simply a line item on a spread sheet.

I've really lost respect for the one man in the country who I thought was the last respectable high profile republican. In the immortal words of another famous republican: "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.”"
