Ha! Good find. HUBSKI was still pretty new and I used the only method I knew of to get someone's attention...songwriting. I worked hard on it and I thought it turned out well. Liz Gannes was a sport and was surprised that Kara posted it. It was on the AllThingsD homepage for a day and brought us 0 traffic. Lesson learned -not all publicity is good publicity, especially when it uses the word "creepy" to describe you.
Since then, we've relied almost exclusively on word of mouth and it's served the site well. Thanks for your role in that. Blast from the past!
