I'm pretty sure "walkabout" is the wrong terminology, but it always struck me as something similar to the aboriginal right of passage. Not enough cultures have something like this. I think I would have benefited from doing something like that prior to going to college out of state. Instead my college experience was my walkabout and as such, I was pretty un-hinged. It wasn't the best mental state for productivity. It looks like he is directing you in the photo, "so, you head down Front street, then take a left at the Rainbow..." You look like a baby. This weekend is my 20th HS reunion and everyone is posting old photos on FB. Look at me below, I was just a baby.
