And XServes were the shit if you could trick someone else into paying for them. Even now they're gorgeous paperweights. That's the fundamental problem with Apple: "We control every aspect of the ecosystem so we don't have to talk to anyone else." AppleTalk is a fucking nightmare. Back To My Mac is a heinous assemblage of IPV6, Apache and other ad-hoc bullshit that makes it totally not work unless you're on Apple networking hardware on both ends. There's a reason iPhoto encrypts your images - so Apple doesn't have to let anyone else look at your photos. iMessage? Don't get me started. It all works great so long as it's all Apple. Inject a single device they don't control the protocols on implicitly, though...
