I guess I'm feeling a little bit country.
Crazy semi-satanic imagery for a country song.
Tammy Wynette was the Beyonce of her day, George Jones was the Jay-Z.
Tammy has so many great songs, I could post a dozen.
Not so country, little bit country, little bit pop.
I think Nancy Sinatra was underrated. She got a lot of guff for doing feminist songs like "boots" at a time that feminism was a good deal more controversial than today. Many people seem to think she was just Hazelwood's puppet and that being Franks daughter was the only reason her career went anywhere. I think she was a pretty good duet partner for Lee. She wasn't an Emmylou to Graham Parson but she was good enough.
If you hate old timey shit and can take a little old shit dig This Nilsson track.
