It was really informative, and really made me interested in pursuing the Star Trek series, so that seems to be the point of the badge system. With that said I will be checking those four movies out. Out of curiosity, why is the first star trek not listed?

I understand your concern for J.J. Abrams, but I still think there is room to have hope. Although I haven't watched something I disliked by Abrams so to speak I just think this is a different situation. Abrams talked a lot about his apprehension first taking on the project in some of his early interviews( I'll try to find some sources on those) he talked about how he didn't even want to do because it was Star Wars. I think part of that is important Star Wars is big stuff, and on top of it he is being given a lot of power in the universe. That fear alone coupled with that fact that his co-writer is Kasdan I think this could reign in a lot of the issues he has as a director. All I'm saying is I think it is better to stay at least a bit optimistic about the movies.
