But if popsci and sci-am need a new commenting platform... I know of one.I don’t think SciAm tried to hurt Dr. Lee, and I doubt SciAm is actively trying to suppress all discussion of equality issues in science. But I am left wondering why it would neglect its own community in this manner, and I can only make sense of it by connecting it to another recent controversy in the science community—Popular Science (PopSci) shutting down its own comments.
I've got to say, her article is a rant (a justifiable one) but perhaps not appropriate for sci-am. Them taking it down in order to verify the validity of its source seems justified.
