Crazy. As a brain cancer survivor I'm looking at making many permanent changes to my diet. One of which has been adding lots of kale and cruciferous vegetables. Also, my wife and I have been going vegetarian for one or two days a week (we're working up to being vegetarian the majority of the times). Gluten?! Wow. My father had a saying when I complained something was wrong with me, "Son, you've got shit in your veins and your heart pumps piss" was occasionally his reply. Possibly he was more on the mark than I've realized.
A glutton diet is as useful as tits on a bull :) Good luck with the dietary changes. I was a vegetarian for 6 months. It made a positive difference on my physique and overall happiness. I wish I didn't love cuisine as much as I do.
I knew I would be going back and I fell off the wagon. I was going to attempt it for one year, but exactly a year ago today, I fell off of the wagon. I was at a friends house for a BBQ and he kept talking about his jalapeƱo burger he makes. By his description, it sounded pretty damned good so I said I would have one. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a pretty bad burger, one of those frozen pre-formed hockey pucks, not even de-thawed before it hit the grill. Then he just put jalapeƱos on it as it grilled. -nothing special. Great guy, fun BBQ but crappy burger. I should probably jump back on the wagon. We have been talking about having another child and if my wife should get pregnant, I think I'll give up meat for 9 months. Just to have some sort of solidarity with her during that time. She has to give up alcohol and well, I'm not likely to join her there :)
