Before I even tried G+ I wrote this post: http://hubski.com/pub?id=2069 I think that Google's strategy from here on out is going to be very influenced by Google+. In the short term, I think it is going to lead to more success and revenue. But, in the long-term, I think it is going to make it harder for them to make unique and interesting products. Not every product can be improved with the tint of social. I wish Cleary luck with http://hivemind.org. As Princess Leah said to Tarkin: "The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers." :)
I'm going to get around to deleting my fb account at some point. I don't like it. But, yeah, I am sure the day will come where you won't be able to watch off-color vids on youtube without a G+ account. That's when an alternate service will start to pick up traction. Google is going to over reach with this one.
