Lelz. The "exodus" of reddit's powerusers, ever in search of ego-petting, have landed ship here, and brought with them the hordes of their followers. They never had thoughtful discussions to begin with, amassing 'karma' with quick snipes and silly images, and their minions will only dampen this website even further. Your downfall has begun. Mwahahaha
You seem to have misinterpreted joelg236. He made no reference to a growing user base being bad for Hubski per se. That said, I don't think that all types of growth will necessarily help Hubski in the long term, particularly if content is suddenly being posted that is in conflict with the primary objective of the community.
I have a twitter account. In my feed I see what I want to see. I have a hubski account and in my feed I see what I want to see. I ignore tags and I ignore users that don't interest me. My feed looks the same today as it has since I joined, interesting and full of good content. I found this post in the global posts. I don't think growth will be a problem. People that want to "circlejerk" can and will and I won't have to see it. Fine by me.
It's mainstream now, is all. Put on your black framed glasses and get some records with artificial reverb, we're going full Brooklyn Heights now!
I don't think he/she understands what hubski is about, considering the nature of the post. I wanted them to know that this is not what hubski is meant for, and that I did not appreciate it. Same as if someone came into a library screaming and someone told them that they are going to the other side of the library because they are being way too loud.
There should be a bit of room for silly, in most places. But, more importantly, there should always be room for 'new'. Otherwise, it's the same people saying the same things. Still, I wasn't trying to give you a hard time. Salty is a really nice guy, even if his first post missed the mark.
I'm hope I didn't come off as an asshole either. I really am just trying to make this site the best it can be for what it is meant to be. Hopefully you and salty enjoy your time here, I find its a fantastic place to discuss with people who are interesting and insightful.
:( Also why the fuck would I go on those sites Eww
I'm sorry. I just didn't think it really mattered how I acted if I wasn't really attempting to discuss anything anyway. I'm perfectly fine with actual discussion, and I wouldn't act like this on a serious thread.
I'm willing to un-ignore you, as what you said makes sense. I really hope you start to get a grip on what hubski is about, because it's actually a really cool site. Start with the faq and about page. After that, I recommend visiting the community page to find interesting people to follow based on your interests. You should know that mk is the owner and creator of hubski, and any questions about the site he is usually glad to answer. And me too if you'd like.
