I want to hate on white guys with a fake patois but he has a really nice thing going on and his band kills.

Don't know about most the rest of the band, but he's been jamming with the guitarist, Aaron Dugan, since college. His live recordings are worth the listen if you like this. Their stage synergies shone through in studio recordings of the latest album, too, which is new. Snippet of a live recording in London. Wasn't his regular crew, but as you said, he's got a good thing going.
