I get the point of the article... we will have to adapt if we eradicate disease... but the

tone was a bit over the top.

    Should we not treat or prevent stroke or heart attack in 90 year olds?

Well ROI for that is negative so that's a pretty good reason not to. Better invest in fighting diseases that have high end of life cost so people live long enough to die from heart attack
