Thanks to NotPhil for the suggestion about viewing POW films for this edition of the Hubski Film Club. As mentioned earlier, in keeping with round one of the club (and a nice budding tradition, IMO) we will have one older film and one contemporary film, this time, Bridge on the River Kwai, directed by David Lean, and Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn. For background, I might suggest watching Herzog's earlier film Little Dieter Needs to Fly, a documentary about the protagonist of "Rescue". I look forward to discussing these, and I hope you all like the choices!

I watched Bridge on the River Kwai -What a fantastic film, with a great ending. There are so many things from that film that I feel like I recognized through parody or homage. Good enough that I'd gladly watch it again. Anyone else see it? I've yet to watch Rescue Dawn.

I was able to pick up Bridge on the River Kwai from our local Library. I'll be watching it this weekend. Looking forward to it.
