To add to my previous comment upon further reflection: You can listen to a dopey snake oil charlatan like Tolle for a few loooonnnngg days on audio book, or worse, read his dull ass, making no sense, repetitive book to learn about how to live in the NOW, or you can stare into anther persons eyes for a bit of the day and experience the real deal with little or no training or bullshit. It's no fucking contest for me, I'd rather stare into someone else's eyes, or take a mega dose of hallucinogens, or better yet, stare into someone else's eyes while on a mega dose hallucinogens. It's dogma or revelation, you pay your price and you take your pick.
See my other comment re tolle. I have no affection for the man, I'll not defend him other than to say the mindfulness teachings, which didn't origin with him, are spot on. Also, I've done acid and looked in to someone else's eyes. I've done the same when sober. It's a cool experience. One that I try to do often, in smaller spurts. It's a connective exercise. Good stuff. I just think paying someone to quietly look out at an audience is really fucking odd.
