I comfortably accept the evolutionary links between two legged dinosaurs like T Rex and modern birds. But is there any link between four legged behemoths like this and birds?

Birds are the last living descendants of theropod dinosaurs. "Four legged" dinosaurs split much further back in time and belong to a different order called Sauropods and/or the family Ceratopsia (Triceratops etc).

T-Rex, by the way, had a wishbone! REALLY! Birds are the only other animals ever discovered to have wishbones.

6-8 year old boys will usually gravitate toward one of three main things: dinosaurs, machinery or space. I. being awesome, reveled in all three.

I'm fairly certain that four legged and the two legged bird precursors diverged in the beginning of the dinosaur era, so they are only very distantly related.

Yea, about 90 million years before the K-T event.
