Oh come on, I love that thing! It's just what you want for a super-camp nightclub scene in Jabba's palace. And as far as alien design goes, I think it looks pretty good — yeah it looks silly, but then what's it supposed to look like? It's an alien, it's the product of a completely different evolutionary history. Also, it's wearing lipstick, so it's a little bit fabulous.
Oh. Oh dear. You're right, it's had to imagine them running around Endor. Is the only thing that made the original movies so good the fact that Lucas wasn't able to make the movies he really wanted? Because relevant, I give you Meow Skywalker.
Well. Episode 3 might be the most "depressing" now, but it could be considered the most down of the original.
