Dreary is precisely the only way to describe Mason's contribution to "journalism." I can't say that I've ever read any of his columns and not rolled my eyes cartoonishly.

It is silly that he doesn't mention that inflation, not just growth, plays a role in digging us out from mountains of debt. But inflation remains elusive, and when it does return, it has costs as well.

War can erase debts too.

As bombastic as the article is, I do agree with the point that we seem to be in a place from which bad things can arise, historically speaking.
