That must make for a cool visual experience after you've read a book a few times. Each color representing a specific time in your life. That's cool. You could even attach a specific color to a year 2012 - Pink Highlighter, 2013 - Green etc. Then you will know when you read something too.

Damon Knight, the SF writer, in his book Creating Short Fiction, urges the reader to do that exact same thing for the exact same purpose. Alas, I'm still haven't found the courage to write on mine. I'm interested, haywire: did you always highlighted your books or did you learn to do it over time?

I gained an interest in biographies about ten years ago, and when I decided to buy them rather than check them out at my local library, I got the idea to highlight them. What really sparked it was the fact that I owned the books, and it occurred to me that I could do whatever I wanted with them. I used to loan them out and let my friends do the same, but I have lost more than a few books in this manner and no longer do it.

I think we don't do certain things because we pigeonhole ourselves, or live in a paradigm - for whatever reason; so now I act as I see fit! They're your books, do as you see fit. Hope this helps.

To keep track of my books, I used to write the date, the name of the person and of the book in three-column table I printed. for the most part, it served its purpose. However, to this day, I still haven't got back my pocket book edition of Othello.

They're your books, do as you see fit. -- It's a great advice. Thanks!

We've been writing in a cook book lately. You can see the little symbol my wife started using to rate the recipes after we cook them: http://i.imgur.com/xdh9i.jpg

She did it to make fun of how much time I spend on Hubski. So far, 3 have "8 wheels" and 1 with only 5. -Thai Peanut Curry.

The cookbook is Clean Food by Terry Walters, its been really good so far. It was a recommendation from fr33lunch

Nice! How do you like the book?

Ps, I (selfishly) want a small hubski sticker to put on the otter box case for my Razr. Maybe a clear decal version that is about 3 inches wide. I'm a whore, I know.

I've got some that are 2" wide and some 3" wide. Nothing clear though.

Send an address to hubski@hubski.com and I'lll send them.

Ha! Just take a sharpy and draw one on there. The book is awesome! We've made 4 meals thus far and I think that the best one has been the Shepherds Pie. We've started cooking on Sundays for the week. Hope school is going well. Whore.
