Unfortunately, Curiosity is having problems meeting its budget and schedule:

I don't see why they had to go big with Curiosity. They should have just built more rovers like Spirit and Opportunity, and spread new instruments between them. More Rovers means less risk and more places you can land. The rovers and their landing method are totally proven too. Probably stupid politics and egos as usual.

I can't help but feel sorry for Spirit, sitting there abandoned in the soft sands of Mars. Curiosity should rescue her.
