I Enjoy the internet and the folks I met here I am old enough to get a science fiction thrill from interacting/collaborating with folks from around the world but the tournament nature of the place has got me a bit down.

Can you expand upon the 'tournament nature' part?

Are you looking for a better channel for your works? Twitter seems like it would be very good for your comics. However, I think the switch from 'push' to 'pull' for creations will always remain a difficult thing to find. IMHO consistency seems to reign above everything else in this department. I had a blog, and the difference in response to daily posts to biweekly posts was significant.

it is a game theory economics thing tournaments are games with lots of contestants few winners they are great for the people that put them on.

Example

$100 entry fee 100 entrants give 1st place $500 second $250 third $150 give out ribbons pocket $9100 - the cost of the ribbons.

The lottery, sports industry, music industry the arts are all tournaments it is a way to get people to work for free.

Facebook, reddit, twitter and hubski (to a lesser extent) are kinda like tournaments but you don't give out prizes.

Smart folks avoid tournaments and seek out more level games.

Constancy is a strange bird what an artist does not publish is more important than what he does. Listening to Jimi Hendrix's outtake box set would disabuse anyone who thinks he is infallible.

Of course I am not very good at this.

Well, I for one, enjoy what you put here. I may not share every one, but I do click them all.

The Man in the Unicorn Suit was brilliant.

I meant not good at editing or curating my work.

I have the last chapters worked out but not done.

Found them about a week ago. When your house moves it is amazing what gets lost.
