I'm so deeply moved right now. I was at my universities student resource center filling my water bottle from a fountain next to a set of offices. I noticed the water filling the bottle was essentially opaque with dissolved minerals, and had an unpleasant odor. In disgust I was emptying it back into the fountain when an older woman carrying a stack of papers and folders stopped me and told me to follow her, she'd get me a drink. Kind of in awe I followed her and she led me into her open office and filled my water bottle from their cooler, and handed it back to me with the most honest, and pleasant smile I've ever known. She wished me a pleasant afternoon and I was on my way, holding my water bottle like a holy object. A simple drink of water, and I'm trying to hold back tears. There is still good in this world, as much as I try and convince myself there isn't.
