I was on Ritalin when I was a kid. Apparently there were some issues in my behavior that prompted mom to send me to a psychiatrist, who then prescribed me the medication. Not sure where she got the idea, maybe my aunt who also put my cousin on the same shit (and other medications subsequently). Any in case, my mother said she took me off the drugs precisely because of the change in behavior. I guess she didn't like that I was droned out and was experiencing a lack of appetite. I don't blame her, she makes dank ass food. Are these drugs safe? I mean, over the course of one's life, how do we know this treatment is effective? It kind of feels like a bandaid.
