My sense is that bargain shoppers are not the type that make loyal customers, almost by definition. This thing is unraveling.

I have a feeling that Foursquare and Yelp are going to break into this, but instead of getting emails, they are just going to notify you if there are any deals around you. I might be a bit more inclined to use something like that.
