Generally, you can legally photograph anything easily visible from a public space, except for any situation where someone could reasonably expect privacy. You may or may not be able to legally record what someone's saying. Of course, you should ask before photographing or video-capturing a particular person (as opposed to just a shoot of a crowd). I think privacy laws have fallen way behind technology, though. It's sad that legislators are too busy playing political games to be bothered with doing things that would actually help people.Does anyone know what laws govern this kind of activity? Is it legal to film anything in public? What about taking photos; are the laws different regarding those?
