Maslow's ideas about self-actualisation are admirable, but ultimately flawed, I feel. Part of our potential is that we are able to perpetually find more ways to grow and improve: to truly self-actualise, we must reach a point at which we can't find any way to go any further. Even if such a thing does exist, and I'm not sure that it does, then it sounds like hell to me. I enjoyed much of his other work, but the whole "self-actualisation" thing doesn't sit comfortably with me.
