Not the most imaginitive tag, but it's all I could come up with. There are many facets to gun violence in the US. However, when it comes to these mass shootings, the inability to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill is the glaring failure that they all have in common. There are many steps that can be taken to improve this situation. However, the most obvious one is tighter screening of gun buyers. In Michigan the Governor currently has a bill that enables some to carry guns into schools and libraries on his desk. I can only hope that this will cause him veto it. Arming teachers and librarians is a reaction to violence, but it will not prevent it, especially when the type of violence that we are addressing is perpetrated by those that aren't afraid to die in the act of killing people.
