I live here and I have never even heard of it. I did hear about lights which follow you and replacing conventional light bulbs with LED lights. Only recently we started turning the lights off on the highways in order to save electricity, but we never did anything to actually make the roads more safe. Now it is just the same road, but without the lights. In the article you linked to in your comment it is also mentioned that they want to create priority induction lanes for electrical vehicles. I just hope they research that some more before they start wasting energy... All in all, I am looking forward to what they will come up with and I might even take my parent's car for a spin just so I can drive on that new highway when it is done.
