I lost about 5kg, from 78kg to 73kg, and am now stable at about that weight. I did start to excercise 1 hour twice a week, but I think the main thing that did it is that I cut down on my food intake.

I started realising that I was eating a lot more than I really needed to, and it wasn't hard to switch up my routine at all. I don't know how this would work for you, but here's what I did:

I used to eat 2 sandwiches for breakfast, and 2 sandwiches for lunch, then have a huge dinner. Now, I have one sandwich for breakfast, one sandwich for lunch, and a huge dinner. It turns out that I don't feel much more hungry than I used to (except when dinner time approaches, but I can handle that). My dinner typically consists of chicken, a lot of vegetables, and some source of carbs, like rice or pasta, mostly store bought torellini. Or something equivalent to that. It's big, but the ingredients are fairly healthy. I also make my food myself nearly every single day.

Other habits I have are that I don't snack much between meals, and when I do it's mostly just apples and carrots. They help tide me over, I like the taste of them, and they obviously contain way less calories than a candy bar.

I like to keep things simple. I don't count calories, and I eat similarly most days. This works for me because it was a change of ROUTINE. I don't need to think about it much, I just do the same thing every day.

Good luck with your weight loss!
