I find the relationships between corporate america and the deep state to be quite interesting. AT&T's cooperation with the NSA isn't exactly a new revelation but to see AT&T as being so particularly eager and willing to cooperate is a new reveal to me. I've often wondered, to what degree the relationship is coercive between them, but I suppose there is much more symbiosis. Sure, they may break a couple rules, but Congress will give them legal immunity if necessary and the security and surveillance apparatus ensures stability and continuity of the economic and political order, which the unraveling of is probably the biggest existential risk to the largest American multinationals, generally speaking.
