Yeah it really is shameful, and a lot of the press concerning each of these company's recent announcements includes speculation that such action in the tech industry might encourage companies in other industries to follow suit. I'm not so optimistic about that though, most of the other tech company benefits haven't been adopted elsewhere because few industries have the same level of competition for talented workers.Faceless corporate behemoths offer benefits for reasons described as "selfish."
