A web community for the trading of thoughtful material, for the most part, but there is one caveat (aside from the natural fact that content is always diverse, including in the sense that it will contain elements disliked by some); that this post in fact reminds me of other web communities such as Reddit in that people are referring to Hubski as if it were some sort of cult (without the negative connotations); by this I mean that a sense of group identity has formed - this being the point of Hubski, as far as I could see, but I merely wish to warn against a road upon which we might tread - look to Reddit and you will see people calling each other Redditors, talking about meeting "another one of us" in the offline world and inventing silly codephrases such as "When does the narwhal bacon?"; all of this creates a sense of specialness where none exists - Reddit is visited by millions of people every day; what I mean to say is that Hubski is not special, nor are the people on it simply for visiting a website - this does not make it special; what is special are the relationships formed, however shallow, between its members; we must remember this and not confuse the name for the people (sentences have no intrinsic length outside of style).
