Not looking for a fight but that's a bit harsh no? I mean wasn't the bombing of Dresden completely pointless strategically? The Holocaust notwithstanding, Dresden was just a needless butchery of civilians. I think, like Nagasaki, it was for lack of a better word overkill.
I'm not a history scholar and I think you have a point, just unhappy with the tone. So it goes.
