I am in the camp that thinks you can't blame Facebook at all for simply doing what results in the most users of Facebook. They don't "operate around innovation"? Well, I have a feeling if you suggested an innovation that raised the userbase and thereby presumably increased, the CEO would jump all over it. So... EDIT: and I further think that a lot of the time, innovation and numbers-pushing are going to go the same direction. Not always, like the scenario in the blog post, but a lot of the time. For instance, roughly the first four years of Facebook's existence.
