Thanks, dude. Yeah, this stuff is very much breathing music. The ultimate goal is to have a set of songs that change by minute increments until a) they end up in a place almost entirely different than where they started, and b) the slightest chord change, by virtue of being the only one in a song, becomes way more cathartic than it would otherwise be. Not everybody has patience for something without immediate payoff, but I happen to enjoy it more and more these days- songs that either require a certain mindset from the listener, or else force the listener into that mindset. The beat is subject to change- I sent the song to my ne'r-do-well drummer, who may or may not pick up the slack. He drives me crazy, but he also happens to be one of the best drummers I've ever known, at least in a rock/pop/hip hop capacity. So the gamble is worth it. My bassist is also working on lines. So the song isn't quite finished yet, but I think it'll be just satisfying enough when those parts are added. As I mentioned a while back, I do have some unfinished stuff to bring to the Hubski round table. One of those is a beat that I never did anything with, so once again it looks like our minds are working in tandem. Will upload when I get some free time.
